We live in a rural area whose dominant feature is the PrettyBoy Lake. Hence the name. This chair can be made with either curved round or flat arms, with a more relaxed or more upright fit. Pictured here in cherry, it also looks very good in walnut.
This is a progression from my original "Library Chair". More curves, more shape, more sculpting. Very comfortable. Like the Clipper Mill chair, this chair has a deeply sculpted seat that you sink into. The spindles have a lumbar curve to fit your lower back. The crest rail is its distinctive feature- almost a pillow form. To make the crest I use a 2 inch thick plank, cut it at an angle in the center, and then rejoin to make a deeper curve. I then carve it into a soft shape.
