The Sonoma Harvest
Table is my take on a more traditional mission
style table. It has four sculpted legs with a
curved center trestle. The top rests on two cross
rails with three supports. Unless the top has
natural edges, I like to finish the ends with
another piece of wood. These "breadboard" ends
look good and strengthen the top. This table was
sized as a multipurpose table (mail, magazines,
radio) and would be good for a hall or alcove. It
can be made larger for a dining table. It would
also make a very nice writing desk.
A friend of mine
recently bought a house in Sonoma County
California and asked me to make a few pieces of
furniture. This is one, a table for his living
room.
