Blackwater Woodworks LLC, a furniture studio run by award-winning artist Rick Laufer, designs and builds limited edition and one-of-a-kind furniture in native American hardwoods.


The studio is located in a picturesque red bank barn in Bentley Springs, Maryland. Rick specializes in chairs that feature sculpted joinery and flowing lines -- a contemporary style inspired by Hans Wegner, Sam Maloof and George Nakashima. All pieces are made to order.
